Following in the footsteps of brands such as MAC and NYX, CVS/pharmacy is taking the professional makeup look route, announcing the introduction of a new exclusive beauty collection called Makeup Academy. According to CVS/pharmacy, the collection was developed by makeup professionals and beauty experts. More than 145 products within three “key categories”—lip products, false eyelashes and makeup brushes—are included. Prices for items in the collection range from $5- $26.

CVS says the collection was developed under the same Makeup Academy brand name as the popular UK line, based on insights into the needs of CVS/pharmacy’s more than 35 million weekly shoppers, 80% of whom are women.

With lip products as the No. 1 impulse purchase by CVS/pharmacy shoppers, Makeup Academy’s wide range of unique lip formulations includes more than 100 lip products.

The premium brush collection includes the Pro BB/CC Cream Brush ($19) for expert blending, blurring and diffusing, as well as the Pro 5 Piece Travel Set ($21), featuring a mix of natural and synthetic fibers and short handles for “definition and control on-the-go.”

Lashes have been the fastest-growing category for the last three years at CVS/pharmacy, so Makeup Academy provides a wide assortment of options for both false lash beginners and pros.
